Creating the Unexpected

The Event

• Take a “Winners in White” evening celebration to the next level with a fresh concept
• Create an element of dramatic awe that serves as a cap to a week of fun and excitement 

The Challenge

• Transform an unexpected, underutilized event space into a night club
• Keep all guests (and customer!) in suspense until the big reveal

The Results

• A henna tattoo artist interacted with guests during the cocktail reception, which, unbeknownst to them, would later play an integral part in the surprise
• As guests enjoyed the last course of their meal, the MTA team worked to transform an adjacent, empty ballroom into a night club – complete with a smoke machine and black lights
• After dessert, guests were directed to the space for a “final announcement” and, as they approached, the doors opened with smoke billowing out, a live DJ turned up the beats, and all were handed glow sticks, props, and glow-in-the-dark cocktails
• Under black light, the henna tattoos from earlier in the evening stood out in the darkness with a light show to surprise and delight the crowd
• Guests immensely enjoyed the rest of their evening dancing and celebrating in their final hours in Grand Cayman – so much so that the party rolled on past 1 a.m!
